I have also just started experimenting with putting a water-proofing sealant over the top of it, like e.l.f. If you don’t have the same problem, you will probably be fine with this mascara.
Younique lash serum reviews skin#
This just appears to be my curse when it comes to mascara because I have oily skin around my eyes. However, the transplanting gel does have a tendency to smudge. They don’t clump and they don’t fall off. The fibers look just like natural human hair, so it appears as though I have thicker, longer natural lashes. The result looks beautiful on my 35-year-old eyes. Then, a final layer of the transplanting gel seals everything. You can build volume if you want by repeating the swipe. When that rod is swept across the transplanting gel, a few fibers are pulled away and stick to the gel. It’s a small rod with super-fine fibers clinging to it all around. When I open this tube, what comes out looks like a black pipe cleaner. The other tube is the natural fibers, which are 100% natural green tea fibers. It’s an opaque, dark black liquid with a typical mascara brush. One tube is the transplanting gel, which is more like a basic, non-waterproof mascara than it is like a glue. The package contains two tubes in a nice carrying case with instructions inside. I have only tried traditional false lashes once, and they were a huge pain to put on and definitely did not look natural! So I was very pleased to find out that the Moodstruck mascara is actually more like those other false fiber mascaras I had tried, except that the fibers are separated out from the rest of the formula.
I actually thought it might be like traditional false lashes: a strip for each eye that I would have to glue on at the base. The description mentioned green tea fibers and a special non-toxic transplanting gel. When I read about Younique Moodstruck, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it sounded different enough to make me think I might not have the same smudging problem. The problem is they all start to smudge within the first couple hours of wearing them. I don’t know if these actually contain bits of fiber in the formula, but when applied, they look like false lashes extending out of the ends and in between my natural lashes.
My favorites are some of the newer false fiber ones like L'Oreal Paris Voluminous False Fiber Lashes. I have tried a lot of different kinds and still have yet to find the perfect one. I was excited to test Younique Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes ($29) because I have been looking for a paraben-free mascara that looks natural and doesn’t smudge.
